Comcast Business, a division of Comcast Cable, today announced it is now offering DOCSIS 3.1based internet service to business customers in Detroit.

“Business Internet 1 Gig” and “Business Internet 500” speed tiers are now available to Detroit customers using Comcast’s existing network, without a costly and disruptive construction of new network facilities.

Small and mid-sized businesses can upgrade to one of the faster tiers simply by calling Comcast or visiting the company’s website to change their service and order a new modem.

“We’ve offered multi-gig speeds over fiber to businesses for several years,” says Tim Collins, senior vice president of Comcast in Michigan. “Now, by using our existing network facilities, we can provide business customers the flexibility to increase internet speeds without a potential lengthy construction process or by incurring additional costs from the build out.”

Comcast also launched Business Internet 1 Gig and Business Internet 500 in the Atlanta, Chicago, and Nashville markets today, with additional plans to launch in the majority of its service areas throughout 2017 and 2018.

Pricing varies based on location, but customers can contact Comcast for more information.
