Beaubien House to Lease Co-Working Space

2208

Beginning May 1, the historic Beaubien House in Downtown Detroit will offer updated co-working space, featuring three multi-employee office suites, four single offices, and four open-area desks for rent. Parking is also available for rent next to the building, and amenities include free fiber internet, kitchenettes, a parlor space for relaxing or entertaining, a shared conference room, snack and drink bar, and a private courtyard.

Located at 533 East Jefferson, the Beaubien House was originally owned by Antoine Beaubien and was one of Detroit’s first ribbon farms, before he sold a portion to Charles J. Trombley, who built the Italianate townhouse in 1851. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in the 1980s and Detroit Rising Development (DRD) took over operations early this year. DRD immediately began converting the space into multi-use office space, keeping historical features intact while updating features to meet the needs of working professionals.

“The spaces are designed perfectly to accommodate single individual businesses or multi-tenant businesses in a unique inspiring environment all under one roof,” says James Tumey, listing agent for the Beaubien House. “We’ve set it up to be extremely turn-key for the tenant. The rent is all inclusive, and you’re provided your own desk, chair and storage cabinet on day one.”

The first-floor parlor space is a shared gathering and event space that can serve as an extension of tenants’ offices and be reserved via a shared calendar for private events. A partnership with Design Detroit will feature work from local artists at the Beaubien House, and the first-floor space will also be available for small event rentals.

Open-area desks are priced at $200 per month, while private offices range from $500-$1,500 per month for up to 150 square feet, and office suites range from $1,500-$2,000 per month for up to 455 square feet.

An open house preview will be held tomorrow, April 21 from 12-3 p.m. The Beaubien House is currently accepting leasing applications, more information can be found here.
