123Net, a Southfield-based business network services provider, is teaming up with a local non-profit organization to expand its high-speed fiber footprint along the M-1 Rail in Detroit.

The 3.3-mile stretch of fiber spanning from Campus Martius to the Fisher Building and will run along the full length of the newly installed QLINE, to support Detroit businesses down the Woodward corridor.

“We are continuing to provide services that other organizations cannot offer,” says Dan Irvin, CEO at 123Net. “For over 20 years, our diverse team of engineers and problem solvers have and will continue to invest in Michigan’s infrastructure.”

Irvin says the high-capacity fiber will improve business connectivity and allow customers to seamlessly transfer large files and applications in seconds, utilizing nearly unlimited bandwidth. “The improvements will further incentivize businesses to stay in Detroit and lay a foundation for Detroit to become a technological hub,” he says.

123Net also offers fixed wireless, voice, and the area’s largest data centers, providing connectivity services to metro Detroit businesses. Thus far, Irvin says,  the company is responsible for more than 3,500 miles of fiber throughout Michigan, with annual increases between 150-200 miles.
