Midland-based Northwood University will expand its graduate offerings at its program center in Troy to include Master of Science degrees in accounting, taxation, finance, and economics, with courses beginning in the fall.

“Professional jobs are growing in the Detroit area and we can help provide the knowledge needed to expand workers’ credentials and help employers fill open positions with qualified candidates,” says Kristin Stehouwer, executive vice president and chief academic officer of Northwood University.

Stehouwer says four new, full-time faculty members and one new adjunct faculty member will teach the courses for the graduate tracks, which are offered exclusively at the Troy center. She says all of the new professors also work in the field that they teach.

Stehouwer says the Troy Program Center, located at 1500 W. Big Beaver Rd., also offers Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in organizational leadership, along with bachelor’s in accounting, automotive marketing and management, finance, and health care management, among others.

Enrollment for the new graduate programs has opened with classes beginning in August.

Northwood University, founded in 1959, has a residential campus in Midland, along with available adult degree programs in seven states. â€‹
