Benton Harbor-based KitchenAid has unveiled its newest dishwasher, offering a tinted, exterior window with a lighted interior that illuminates when the washing cycle is complete.

“The integration of a window with lighted interior makes for a dramatic design statement and provides the assurance of seeing that dishes are sparkling prior to removal,” says Beth Robinson, senior manager of brand experience for KitchenAid. “… This new model maintains a quiet home environment and provides the versatility to clean everything from glassware and utensils to deep dishes and large serving platters.”

Robinson says the dishwasher features a wash arm comprised of nine arm washes in one, offering better soaking and scrubbing of dishes. She says it has a setting that automatically selects the best cleaning setting based on soil levels, along with a setting that has 40 targeted spray jets to remove food residue. The dry system uses a recessed heating element, vents, and fans to optimize drying.

Robinson says the upper rack of the dishwasher has a new feature that cleans bottles, with a high-powered, concentrated spray wash. The shelving is adjustable on both sides of the upper rack and can be folded down to provide extra space for cups, wine glasses, or longer items such as utensils and spatulas.

The 44 dBA Dishwasher retails for about $2,050.
