The Detroit-based Mobile Technology Association of Michigan has partnered with WorkFountain, a web-based talent-matching tool, to offer a new platform for the state’s connected IT industry called Talent Exchange.
“With industry analysts anticipating a shortage of 500,000 people to fill connected tech jobs nationally by 2020, and approximately 20 percent of that shortage, or 100,000 jobs, expected here in Michigan, we believe it is extremely important to offer the businesses in Michigan every possible tool we can to help employers meet their staffing needs,” says Linda Daichendt, executive director of the Mobile Technology Association of Michigan.
The association’s Talent Exchange platform uses an algorithm to connect employers to candidates based on profiles that detail skills, interests, and requirements.
Using correlated question-sets, the platform sifts through thousands of employers and candidates to deliver matches to employers and job seekers.
Daichendt says the platform focuses on small to mid-sized employers because these firms create the majority of new jobs, but generally lack human resource departments and the relationships with emerging talent pools required to source the talent they need to grow.
She says the WorkFountain platform maximizes employers’ abilities to reach a large and diverse candidate pool while ensuring equal access to opportunities for all candidates.
The association’s Talent Exchange platform was released with the unveiling of its updated website. The Mobile Technology Association of Michigan’s new website also features research and statistics, video information on mobility, event listings, podcasts, job listings, and more.
