Benton Harbor-based KitchenAid has unveiled its new, three-door freestanding refrigerator, which will be available in the brand’s Stainless Steel, PrintShield, and Black Stainless finish models.

The largest capacity refrigerator in its class, the new 72-inch Counter-depth French Door Bottom Mount refrigerator has a slide-away split shelf that allows three quarters of the shelf to retract and accommodate taller items, and the first ever self-close freezer drawer in its class.

“In terms of performance, features, and aesthetics, this is the finest freestanding refrigerator that KitchenAid has ever offered,” says Beth Robinson, senior manager of brand experience for KitchenAid.

The fridge also features the brand’s full extension, self-close FreshSeal crispers drawers, which help maintain humidity levels in the unit; a temperature controlled pantry with pre-sets for customizing temperature for meat and fish, cold drinks, deli items, and wine; a produce preserver system; and a linear compressor, which offers minimal temperature variations.

Additional internal features on select models include an under-shelf prep zone with a removable oven safe pan, which can be used for setting dough or marinating meats, and a platinum design with premium wood accents that is stain resistant. External features include the brand’s PrintShield Finish, which is designed to resist smudges and fingerprints.

Suggested retail prices for the Counter-depth French Door Bottom Mount refrigerator range from $3,999 to $4,399.
