Kellogg’s MorningStar Farms Expands Lineup of Vegetarian Bowls

MorningStar Farms, a Battle Creek-based Kellogg’s Co. brand that focuses on plant-based food and frozen meat alternatives, today released five new vegetarian bowls across the country.

The brand’s new bowl flavors are Japanese Soba Noodles, Moroccan Medley, Chik’n Tikka Masala, Italian Sausage Bake, and Chik’n Pot Pie. Each meal features a variety of vegetables, spices, sauces, and meat alternatives, such as vegetarian versions of chicken and steak.

“Our new protein-packed veggie bowls combine a blend of flavorful ingredients and seasoning with superior taste and texture,” says Todd Smith, director of brand and innovation marketing at MorningStar Farms. “We know that more and more people are looking for convenient and nutritious meal options, including tasty alternatives to meat.”

The five new flavors join the lineup of MorningStar Farms veggie bowls, which was introduced in spring 2016 and also includes Tuscan Greens and Beans, Spicy Black Bean Enchilada, Thai Yellow Curry, and Mushroom and Asparagus Orzo.

Along with MorningStar Farms, Kellogg’s brand’s include Keebler, Special K, Pringles, Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes, Pop-Tarts, Kellogg’s Corn Flakes, Rice Krispies, Cheez-It, Eggo, Mini-Wheats, and more. The company saw annual sales of $13.5 billion in 2015.
