GMC today unveiled the 2016 Sierra All Terrain X with a monochromatic appearance and enhanced off-road capabilities. The pickup truck goes on sale in the spring.

“Styling is the biggest influence on Sierra customers and the new Sierra All Terrain X builds on that with a more aggressive, personalized appearance,” says Duncan Aldred, vice president of sales and marketing for GMC. “It joins other models such as the new Sierra Elevation and premium Sierra Denali to offers more choices for finding the premium truck that matches customers’ style and capability needs.”

Aldred says the Sierra All Terrain X has 18-inch black aluminum wheels designed for off-road conditions including dirt, gravel, and mud; LED headlamps; body-color door handles and body-side moldings; black exterior mirrors; and a performance exhaust system. He says the vehicle has a 5.3-liter V8 engine with 365 horsepower. The X edition is available in black, white, metallic blue, red, light gray, and metallic brown/black.

Aldred says the Sierra All Terrain package offers an off-road suspension package with monotube shocks and a high-capability air cleaner; rear park assist; and a spray-on bedliner.

The Sierra All Terrain X is offered on the 2016 Sierra 1500. Aldred says the 2016 Sierra has a new grille design and offers new technologies such as phone integration via GMC IntelliLink along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
