Custom furniture and home goods maker Mutual Adoration will launch a retail shop at its workshop in Detroit’s Milwaukee Junction neighborhood next month, offering a variety of products such as picture frames, serving trays, and cutting boards.

Mutual Adoration, founded in 2013 by Detroit-natives Clare Fox and Wayne Maki, creates custom furnishings for homes and commercials spaces, using a combination of sustainably harvested new materials and locally salvaged reclaimed wood.

The company’s 3,000 square-foot studio, located at 6545 St. Antoine St. between East Grand Boulevard and Milwaukee Avenue, will now sell picture frames made from reclaimed wood, cocktail trays, coasters, candle holders, and notepads, among other home goods products. Furniture including coffee tables, benches, and desks will also be available for purchase.

Reclaimed wood frames cost between $40 to $120, and a set of four coasters are priced at $34.

“We love our neighborhood … (and) we’re very excited to open our doors to the public, and share our work with everyone,” Maki says.

He says Mutual Adoration will hold an open house on April 30, offering appetizers, drinks, and tours ahead of the launch. The entire collection will be available for purchase, including new and limited edition products.
