American Airlines, the world’s largest air carrier, has added a daily nonstop flight service between Capital Region International Airport in Lansing and Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

“The decision by American Airlines to bring new air travel options to Chicago O’Hare International Airport, one of the nation’s premier hubs, is an exciting development for mid-Michigan travelers,” says Nicole Noll-Williams, director of marketing and passenger development for the Capital Region International Airport. “It allows Capital Region International Airport to serve as an even wider gateway to the world.”

The Lansing-Chicago flight service, which will use an Embraer 145 aircraft with a capacity of up to 50 passengers, will operate seven days a week. Tickets can be purchased online or through the Fly Lansing Concierge Travel Center.

Departure flight times from Lansing are at 6 a.m., 11 a.m., and 2:30 p.m., and arrive at Chicago O’Hare International at 6:06 a.m., 11:06 a.m. and 2:36 p.m., respectively (all times are local).

Return flight times from O’Hare will depart at 8:25 a.m., 11:55 a.m. and 9:45 p.m., arriving at Capital Region International Airport at 10:31 a.m., 2:05 p.m., and 11:49 p.m., respectively (all times are local).

The new service follows the July 6 launch of daily nonstop flights from Lansing to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Washington, D.C.
