Cellarmen’s, a microbrewery, meadery, and cider producer, is the latest venue planning to open in Hazel Park in mid-September.
“Every town needs its own brewery and this town was screaming for it,” says Jason Petrocik, co-founder of Cellarmen’s along with Ian Radogost-Givens. “Everyone in Hazel Park greets you with a smile.”
Petrocik says the 12,000 square foot facility, at 24310 John R, at Nine Mile Rd. (formerly Bolyard Lumber), features a bar, communal seating, and skylights. He says customers will be able to view the entire production process.
Cellarmen’s will offer beer, mead (an alcoholic beverage created by fermenting honey with water), and cider, along with small snacks such as pretzels and nuts. Petrocik and Radogost-Givens also have plans to bring food trucks to the brewery on occasion.
The duo will sell both mead and cider in 16-ounce cans, and have plans to eventually distribute beer.
Acclaimed chef James Rigato of White Lake’s The Root Restaurant & Bar and Bravo’s Top Chef, also will open his restaurant, Mabel Gray, in Hazel Park around the same time.
