Orangetheory Fitness, a gym that offers interval training classes, will open a studio in Ann Arbor next week, with more gym openings planned for Rochester Hills, Grand Rapids, and Grandville. The fitness franchise plans to open 600 studios nationally by 2017.

Orangetheory Fitness offers group workouts that are broken into intervals of cardiovascular and strength training, which include indoor rowing, treadmill, and weight training components.

"Orangetheory Fitness gives us the opportunity to positively affect people's lives through fitness — the results of this workout across the country are astonishing," says Matt Grabowski, the Orangetheory Fitness Ann Arbor franchisee. "We can't wait for the active local community to become hooked on Orangetheory and start seeing results from the unique and high-energy workout."

The gym in Ann Arbor, to be located at 2246 S. Main St., will be owned and operated by Grabowski, his wife, Marjo Grabowski, and Orangetheory Fitness Michigan area developer Scott Marcus. There are also studios in Birmingham and Canton Township.

The Ann Arbor gym will open July 10.
