Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, a grocery store chain that features organic and natural foods, will open storefronts next month in Troy, Rochester Hills, and Northville Township.

“These communities have an amazing pride in their local goods and we are proud to be able to source these high quality offerings for our stores,” says Chris Sherrell, CEO of Fresh Thyme. “As part of our commitment to providing local, healthy choices to the community, we will offer over 400 locally sourced grocery goods from Michigan within these stores.”

Fresh Thyme Farmers Markets have been described as a cross between Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods Markets, with an emphasis on organic foods sold at less expensive prices. The markets sell fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, seafood, cheese, bakery items, bulk foods, vitamins, and body care products.

Fresh Thyme Farmers Markets, which is in the process of moving its headquarters from Phoenix to Illinois to be closer to its Midwestern market, plans to open 60 stores in the Midwest by 2019. The chain has stores in Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Missouri, and Ohio. The company opened its first Michigan location in East Lansing in April.

The new stores will be located at 901 E. Big Beaver Rd. in Troy; 2025 S. Rochester Rd. in Rochester Hills; and 15480 Sheldon Rd. in Northville Township. The stores are scheduled to open July 22.
