ExperienceIT, a Detroit-based informational technology training program, is looking for students for its next class, which launches July 6. The free program is a collaboration between Quicken Loans and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan along with other workforce agencies in metro Detroit.

“Ensuring our diverse group of students are able to build their careers here and take part in the comeback of a great American city is what ExperienceIT is all about,” says Linglong He, CIO of Quicken Loans and ExperienceIT chairwoman.

The eight-week program with classes running eight hours a day, five days a week, teaches students skills using technologies such as Java, .Net, as well as interpersonal skills through team-oriented learning activities.

In the most recent class, the program graduated 43 individuals and 36 accepted full-time jobs with the partner companies Quicken Loans, GalaxE.Solutions, Title Source, Fathead, Marketing Associates, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, and DTE Energy.

ExperienceIT was launched in 2012, under the name IT in the D. The program was revamped in 2014 and renamed ExperienceIT.
