The Embassy Suites Detroit in Livonia today began a $14 million renovation of all of the guest rooms, the atrium, and restaurant.

“Every guest room is completely brand new and they’re very modern and chic,” says Ellie Beauchamp, sales director of the Embassy Suites hotel. “The entire atrium is being completely leveled and repurposed.

Beauchamp says the all-suites hotel, located at 19525 Victor Pkwy., will repurpose and level the five-story atrium to include water features and more gathering space. The suites — two rooms that include a couch, two TVs, and a bathroom — will feature a gray and brown palette to create a “calming environment,” she says.

The restaurant will be redesigned and rebranded, to be called “Gander,” (formerly the Cascades Restaurant) and will have a local flair with Michigan-made products. The 7,000 square feet of event space for up to 350 guests will be upgraded as well.

The hotel will remain open throughout renovation work, which is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

The Embassy Suites Detroit, located off of I-275 between Seven Mile and Eight Mile roads, also has an indoor pool, a fitness center, and Wi-Fi access.
