The founder of McClary Bros., a Detroit-based company that makes small batch drinking vinegars often used in cocktails, will appear Friday on ABC’s Shark Tank to pitch an investment deal to a group that includes Mark Cuban and actor Ashton Kutcher.

"This is an amazing opportunity to give exposure to our product and to help educate consumers on drinking vinegars and how they can be used," says Jess Sanchez McClary, owner of McClary Bros.

McClary says Shark Tank producers held a casting call audition in Detroit in April, and selected McClary to appear on the show. The episode was taped in California in June. McClary pitched the investment deal to Cuban, Lori Greiner, Robert Herjavec, and Kevin O’Leary, and guest “Shark” Kutcher.  Shark Tank airs at 9 p.m. Fridays on ABC.

The drinking vinegars, commonly known as shrubs, are made with organic, unpasteurized apple cider vinegar and seasonal fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Flavors include beet and carrot, Thai basil, pineapple and fennel seed, among others. A 16-ounce container of the drinking vinegar retails for about $18 to $25.

McClary Bros., founded in 2012, sells and serves its product in more than 300 bars, restaurants, and retail locations in 17 states. McClary Bros.’s products can be found locally at The Stand Bistro and The Townsend Hotel in Birmingham, Café ML in Bloomfield Township, Westborn Market in Berkley, and Rail & Anchor and Holiday Market in Royal Oak, among other locations.
