Detroit-based Woodward Throwbacks Partners with Nordstrom

Woodward Throwbacks, a Detroit-based company that creates home décor items out of reclaimed wood, is expanding its national sales via a new partnership with Nordstrom.

"This partnership will help spread our product and company values much faster than we could have imagined,” says Kyle Dubay, CEO of Woodward Throwbacks. “Partnering with a company the size of Nordstrom allows us to reduce the amount of materials that would otherwise continue to accumulate in the streets of Detroit."

Dubay says offerings will include reclaimed wood signs, bottle opener signs, beer carriers, and coasters. The products range from $20 to $50. All merchandise is made by hand in the company’s studio in Detroit’s Corktown neighborhood.

In November, Woodward Throwbacks purchased a 4,000-square-foot vacant building at 3511 Michigan Ave., between 24th and 25th streets. The company created a Kickstarter campaign and reached their funding goal of $10,000 in December.

Woodward Throwbacks’ products will be available in nearly 30 Nordstrom stores, including Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi.
