The American Arab Chamber of Commerce next week will host a conference in Dearborn to showcase Algerian products and services to U.S. buyers while providing American sellers with access to Algerian executives looking to purchase U.S. goods and services.
“Algeria is virtually an untapped market for U.S. businesses, and this event will provide networking and meeting opportunities for southeast Michigan business owners to explore potential partnerships and grow their business,” says Fay Beydoun, executive director of the American Arab Chamber of Commerce. “With a population of 39 million people, political stability, and a growing economy, Algeria is one of the most attractive markets in the world for U.S. trade and investment.”
Beydoun says the event, to be held Tuesday at The Henry Hotel, will provide information for U.S. executives on how to expand partnership and trade efforts with the North African nation.
Beydoun says a morning conference will feature insight and advice from Algerian business leaders and government officials on succeeding in trade. There will also be networking opportunities.
His Excellency Abdeslam Bouchouareb, minister of industry and mines of Algeria; Her Excellency Joan Polaschik, the U.S Ambassador in Algeria; Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan; and Mike Zimmer, director of the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, are all scheduled to attend. About 60 CEOs of Algerian corporations, from industries such as agriculture, health care, transportation, infrastructure, and energy and mining, will also attend.
