Grand Rapids-based investment firm Charter Capital Partners today opened its newest office in downtown Detroit, near Punch Bowl Social.
“Charter has continued to grow in both deal size and geographic reach, particularly in eastern Michigan, and we felt it was the right time to establish a presence closer to these important clients,” says John Kerschen, managing director of Charter Capital Partners. “After exploring a variety of options throughout metro Detroit and talking with clients and other business leaders in the region, we decided to invest in downtown Detroit and be part of the momentum.”
Kerschen says the office, at 1420 Broadway St. near the Boll Family YMCA, Punch Bowl Social, and The Z parking deck, supports the firm’s existing client base in southeast Michigan as well as offering an operations base to take on further growth.
“The greater Detroit area is a fast growing and important market for Charter Capital, and this move will significantly increase our ability to efficiently serve our clients here,” Kerschen says.
The firm now has four offices, three in Michigan and one in Indiana. Charter Capital Partners supports middle market companies, offering services such as business valuation, exit planning, and capital raise for start-ups, acquisition, and growth capital.
