AT&T will add two storefronts in Detroit by mid-July as it works to meet the addition of thousands of jobs and a vibrant residential market in the downtown district and Midtown.

“(AT&T is) in the middle of significant retail investments in Michigan, including remodeling all of our authorized agent locations and adding additional distribution,” says Terence Gergis, director of sales for AT&T Detroit.

Gergis says the company plans to open a new 2,200-square-foot store Wednesday at the Studio One Plaza just north of the Whitney Restaurant in Midtown (4501 Woodward Ave.).

Another 1,800-square-foot store will open next week in the Shoppes at Detroit at 1347 W. Eight Mile Rd., which will be owned and operated by Spring Mobile. The stores will feature smartphones, tablets, accessories, and services such as home automation and advanced TV.

Last month, Pagetec opened a remodeled, 1,575-square-foot storefront in downtown Detroit at 111 Monroe St. in the Compuware Garage.

AT&T has 58 company-owned stores in Michigan, including a retail location in the Renaissance Center.
