Lincoln Motor Co. has released details about the 2016 Lincoln MKX that includes a 360-degree camera system to assist motorists with parking and looking out into cross traffic.
“The design, engineering, and execution of the available 360-degree camera system provides seamless assistance for the customer,” says Jennifer Shaw, spokeswoman for Lincoln. “The cameras offer another set of eyes and perspective to help the driver.”
The camera deploys from behind the Lincoln Star badging between the two front grilles. The badge moves out and tilts up to reveal the camera.
The 360-degree view shows up to seven feet around the vehicle, creating a composite view of the surrounding area. It also offers a 180-degree split view, which can be used in cross-traffic or difficult parking situations.
The Lincoln MKX features a 2.7-liter V-6 engine, pre-collision assist, full-LED front headlamps, 22-way adjustable front seats, and a 13-speaker Revel audio system.
The vehicle goes on sale this fall and retails for about $38,000.
