Re-creations of the Ice Palace from Disney’s Frozen are headed to select Taubman Centers Inc.-owned shopping centers across the country next month, including two in Michigan — Great Lakes Crossing Outlets in Auburn Hills and Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi.

The palaces, open from Nov. 6 to Dec. 24, will be part of the celebration of the release of Disney’s Frozen Sing-Along Edition DVD on Nov. 18. Additionally, the palaces will feature hands-on activities and photo opportunities with Olaf, one of the main characters of the movie.

“We are committed to bringing our shoppers the very best interactive experiences,” says Glenda Cole, vice president of sponsorship and center marketing for the Bloomfield Hills-based luxury shopping mall developer.

Frozen follows the story of Anna, who sets out to find her sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. The movie, which was released in late 2013, is the highest-grossing animated film of all time.

Taubman will also offer the holiday experience at Cherry Creek Shopping Center in Denver; Dolphin Mall in Miami; Fair Oaks in Fairfax, Va.; International Plaza in Tampa, Fla.; The Mall at Short Hills in New Jersey; Sunvalley in Concord, Calif.; University Town Center in Sarasota, Fla.; and Westfarms in Hartford, Conn.

With the exception of the Short Hills location, all participating centers will also offer a gift shop where guests can purchase the original Frozen DVD, and the sing-along DVD, and other Frozen merchandise.
