New Event Highlights Business Resources Available in Macomb County

The Macomb County Department of Planning and Economic Development is partnering with the Michigan Economic Development Corp. to pilot a new event designed to inform business entrepreneurs about available resources to help them grow their companies.

The forum, to be held Sept. 30 at the Lorenzo Cultural Center in Clinton Township, will include representatives from more than 20 partner agencies who will describe their programs in 60-second pitches. Participants will also have opportunities to speak directly with service providers as well as to network with others.

“This is really a business retention visit on steroids,” says Vicky Rad, deputy director of the department. “When we visit a company on a one-on-one basis, we ask a lot of questions to determine what types of programs are available to help. During this event, we’ll be able to start the process with many businesses at one time.”

The event is designed for area companies looking that are looking for assistance to access financing, recruit and train employees, or implement other strategic growth strategies, Rad says. Also on the agenda is an overview of the Personal Property Tax Reform Act, approved by Michigan voters in August.

The Pure Michigan Business Connect — Resources to Grow Your Business event is free to the public. Dinner and a cash bar will be provided.
