Achates Power Adds Two Board of Directors

Achates Power Inc., a San Diego-based internal combustion engine developer with offices in Farmington Hills, has added John Wall and John Koszewnik to their board of directors.

“We are pleased to welcome our newest members to the Board of Directors,” says David Johnson, Achates Power president and CEO. “They bring deep industry experience and unique perspectives that will be beneficial as we continue our growth. The combined wealth of industry knowledge and leadership experience on our board is truly inspiring.”

 

Wall, former chief technology officer for Cummins Inc., has more than 35 years in the internal combustion engine technology industry. Wall is experienced in fuels, emissions, and global engineering organizational development. He has received a variety of awards including induction into the National Academy of Engineering, the Soichiro Honda Medal for outstanding achievement from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and the Haagen-Smit lean Air Award from the California Air Resources Board.

 

Koszewnik joined Achates Power in 2011 and remains as chief technical officer. With his more than 40 years of experience, Koszewnik assists the development of Achates Power’s internal combustion engine designs. Previously, Koszewnik worked for Ford Motor Co. and served as director for North American Diesel. Additionally, Koszewnik served as vice president of construction equipment product development at Case New Holland.

 

Wall earned bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Koszewnik earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and a master’s in business administration from Harvard University.
