Plante Moran Appoints New Managing Partner

Southfield-based Plante Moran has announced that Jim Proppe has been selected by his partners as the firm’s next managing partner. His term is set to begin July 2017.

In his new position, Proppe will lead Plante Moran with a focus on satisfying client needs. He will help the firm expand its capabilities by increasing service offerings, investing in top talent, and compete in regards to digital services. He is the seventh managing partner in the firm’s 92 year history.

Proppe, of Plymouth, joined Plante Moran in 1984, and has worked as a group managing partner for more than 12 years at the firm’s Ann Arbor office, where he leads client service, growth, and people development for the firm’s industry-focused practice areas. He has also led the firm’s efforts to create new service offerings and the development of its Shanghai, Monterey, and Mumbai offices.

Proppe earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan.
