Troy-based iDashboards has donated $3,000 to the American Cancer Society through internal initiatives and employee participation in the recent the nonprofit’s Making Strides Detroit event in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“At iDashboards, giving back to the community and participating in fundraising initiatives is an important part of our company culture,” says iDashboards CEO Shadan Malik. “Breast cancer impacts so many individuals and families, and we are dedicated to fighting back against this disease by supporting breast cancer research and making early-detection information more accessible through the work of the American Cancer Society.”

The company hosted a variety of internal events in an effort to raise funds for the American Cancer Society, including a pink day, employee bake sale, loose change drive and a field day. All events led up to the Detroit Making Strides event, in which 22 iDashboards employees participated. The Detroit event was comprised of 681 teams that walked a 5K and enjoyed entertainment, snacks and refreshments at the finish line. Overall, the Making Strides Detroit event raised more than $445,000 towards the cause.

IDashboards also donated their dashboard software to create a unique dashboard with the American Cancer Society and Kroger Co. of Michigan that displays the retailer’s statewide fundraising campaign.
