The Alzheimer’s Association – Greater Michigan Chapter is the recipient of $2 million in endowments from the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation. The announcement was made at the Alzheimer’s Association’s annual Chocolate Jubilee gala on Saturday at MGM Grand Detroit.

“The Alzheimer’s Association is an organization that was deeply personal to Ralph,” says Mary Wilson, widow and one of the Foundation Life Trustees. “We are proud to carry on his commitment to families in southeastern Michigan impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and to advance the Association’s efforts to assist them through this journey.”

To sustain their commitment for the long term, the foundation dedicated $1 million of its support for the establishment of the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Respite Care Endowment Fund to provide scholarships to families and caregivers affected by Alzheimer’s who demonstrate financial, health and/or emotional need. A second $1 million grant establishes the Capital Needs Endowment to help fund the infrastructure and capital projects necessary to provide information and support services to Association constituents.
