123.Net Adds New Cell Tower to Expand Service to Businesses

Southfield-based 123.Net has added a new wireless tower in the Farmington Hills industrial park area to provide greater capability and bandwidth to area businesses in the industrial park located in the I-275 and Grand River Road region.

“123.Net continues to invest in new infrastructure to support increased demand for high-speed fixed wireless that has resulted from the growing need for fast reliable service,’ says Jim Hart, the company’s director of wireless.  “As a Michigan-based provider, we’re always looking for new opportunities to support Michigan businesses with enhanced coverage.”

Hart says the company's carrier-grade high-speed fixed wireless service offers speeds up to 2 Gbps on secure links and the tower will add capacity and quality coverage, including faster downloads, improved data speeds, and improved voice coverage.
According to Hart, 123.Net’s mission is to be Michigan’s backbone for business. “Our goal is to ensure that our business customers always have extraordinary data and customer service experiences," he says. "This new tower is our latest investment to help accomplish that."

123.Net built and owns its entire wireless network and is able to install most new customers within five to seven days. The company has more than 50 towers located throughout Michigan, including five sites added this year, and Hareexpects another 10 wireless sites to come on-line over the next 12 months. Earlier this year, 123.Net launched the Detroit Internet Exchange (DET-IX) to further establish Michigan’s Internet infrastructure and bring faster speeds, greater bandwidth, and lower costs for service providers across the state.
