DETROIT — Kohl’s Department Store has donated more than $467,000 To Children’s Hospital to support Kohl’s Injury Prevention Program. The program provides injury education and safety tools to decrease unintentional child deaths and injuries.
Kohl’s has donated more than $5.6 million since 2000 through Kohl’s Cares to the hospital’s foundation benefiting patients and families at DMC Children’s Hospital of Michigan.
The KIPP at DMC Children’s Hospital of Michigan offers safety educational materials and products such as smoke alarms, car seats, and bike helmets to children and their families. They also visit area schools to teach kids about personal safety.
Kohl’s has been a dedicated supporter of children’s health in Michigan since 2000,” Lelli said. “We are very fortunate to have such a great partner. Along with the donations to the Foundation, which allow us to continue injury prevention programs, Kohl’s Associates also volunteer on a regular basis to make many of our community outreach events a success.”
Kohl’s Cares, a merchandise program, has raised $231 million by selling $5 toys and books with 100 percent of net profit given towards child health and education programs nationwide.
