TROY — The city of East Lansing is replacing old technology with New World Systems’ completely integrated Logos.NET Public Administration suite of solutions. After a thorough evaluation of local and national vendors, East Lansing officials selected New World’s software to streamline operations, increase efficiency and improve access to financial information.

“We needed a system robust enough to handle all of our accounting needs and capable of automating processes to save time,” said Mary Haskell, finance director. “We also wanted a solution that is appealing to our users. After seeing several vendors’ demonstrations, our employees unanimously selected New World’s software as the easiest to use.”

New World is providing East Lansing with integrated Logos.NET Financial Management, Payroll and Human Resources, Utility Management, Community Development and eSuite software. The technology behind the browser-based software will ensure information flows freely between departments and dramatically improve reporting and analysis, helping the City accomplish more in less time and make more informed financial decisions.

“We had many requirements that had to be met in our new software,” said Todd Sneathen, director of DPW. “New World has created a solution that will meet our needs now, and the only one we felt would grow with us in the future. New World is the best choice to help us leverage this software investment for a very long time.”

Home to Michigan State University, East Lansing is a progressive community of more than 48,000 residents who are accustomed to paying bills and conducting their business online. As the city joins the growing list of university communities to select New World, East Lansing is looking forward to using New World’s software to provide more online services, increase transparency and better serve their residents.
