Dream Makers Gala 2011

The Detroit Hispanic Development Corp. held its 14th annual Dream Makers Gala on Oct. 27 at DTE Energy Town Square in Detroit. The event raised $120,000 and guests enjoyed a strolling dinner and a silent auction. Photos by Patrick Gloria.

THAW's Cocktails for a Cause

The Heat and Warmth Fund (THAW) hosted a cocktail party at La Casa Cigars and Lounge in downtown Detroit on Feb. 9 to raise funds for emergency energy assistance funding for Michigan residents as part of its 13th Annual Winter Survival Radiothon on WWJ Newsradio. Ferndale-based DivDat donated $13,000 in matching funds to THAW. Detroit-based DTE Energy will match dollar-for-dollar all funds raised.

JLL Cocktail Reception

Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), a global commercial real estate firm with an office in Royal Oak, hosted a cocktail reception with its regional leadership at the Detroit Athletic Club on Jan. 27. More than 200 guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.

'The Embrace of Dying' Special Premiere at Emagine Theatres

Local filmmaker Keith Famie hosted a special premiere for his new documentary, "The Embrace of Dying: How We Deal with the End of Life," at Ironwood Grill inside the Emagine Theatres in Royal Oak on Feb. 7 ahead of its debut on Detroit Public Television.

The Community House's Bates Street Society Dinner

The Community House in Birmingham hosted its first Bates Street Society dinner on Jan. 30, officially inducting donors into the newly formed “Bates Street Society.” Members of the society have donated more than $25,000 to the Community House. The event featured live entertainment and a three-course seated dinner.

Detroit Aglow 2015

The Downtown Detroit Partnership hosted its annual Detroit Aglow fundraiser on Nov. 23 at the MGM Grand Detroit. In addition to a cocktail reception and a children's musical performance, guests were treated to a roasted turkey dinner.
