36,046 Highest Fall Participation Total for Detroit Restaurant Week

1829

DETROIT — Detroit Restaurant Week (DRW) had its largest fall participation total ever when 36,046 people dined at the 21 restaurants that took part in the fall 2011 campaign.  It is an 18.4% increase over the fall 2010 Detroit Restaurant Week, which had 29,426 participants take advantage of the 10-evening dining deal.

It is the second time Detroit Restaurant Week participation surpassed 36,000 participants.  The spring 2011 $28 three-course dinner campaign had 36,578 diners participate.  Since its inception in 2009, more than 158,000 people have enjoyed the first five Detroit Restaurant Week campaigns, generating sales of just over $4.3 million (minimum sales).

“We are pleased the enthusiasm Metro Detroiters have for Detroit Restaurant Week has continued to grow over the years,” said Jason Huvaere, Director of Detroit Restaurant Week.  “It has been a terrific way for our community to experience the tremendous fine dining restaurants Detroit has to offer. With each campaign we hope we’re developing a new crop of customers who will frequent the restaurants all year long.”

A date has not been scheduled for the spring promotion, but Huvaere says people should keep an eye on the Detroit Restaurant Week social media channels and website for the latest news and information. The website is www.DetroitRestaurantWeek.com.  “Like” Detroit Restaurant Week on Facebook and follow @dineDRW on Twitter.
