Walter P. Chrysler Museum to Showcase 2011 Vehicles Amidst Holiday Exhibit Dec. 12

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Dec. 10, 2010 /PRNewswire/ — Walter P. Chrysler Museum visitors will find that some good things come in big packages as the Museum, located in Auburn Hills, Mich., showcases nearly a dozen 2011 Chrysler Group LLC and FIAT vehicles this Sunday, Dec. 12. And while strolling through this one-day new model preview, guests can also enjoy a little holiday cheer with the Museum’s annual Cars, Trees & Traditions exhibition.

Doors will be open noon – 5 p.m. with reduced admission of $4 each for all guests, with free admission for children five and younger. Shuttle service will be available to transport visitors from overflow parking lots to the Museum’s entrance.

The 2011 vehicles – presented by Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep®, Ram, Mopar® and FIAT – will be displayed throughout the Museum – accompanied by product specialists – for an up-close look. Cameras, camera phones and all other recording devices will not be allowed into the Museum during the preview.

The newest models for 2011 will be available for viewing Sunday, Dec. 12 only, while the Museum’s Cars, Trees & Traditions holiday exhibition runs through Dec. 30.

Cars, Trees & Traditions highlights decades of holiday season celebrations through 23 decorated trees. Evergreens on the Museum’s two top floors feature authentic 1900s – 1980s ornamentation, while those in Boss Chrysler’s Garage are embellished by theme.  Vintage ads and images accompany each tree. This years’ exhibit also features 18 authentic model trains ranging from 1911 – 1980s from private collector John Loeding of Lapeer, Mich.

The Museum’s Kids’ Corner will be in full swing this Sunday with puzzles, games, crafts, books and coloring activities for pre-school – elementary school-age children.

The Walter P. Chrysler Museum is located at the corner of Featherstone and Squirrel Rds. on the Chrysler Group LLC complex in Auburn Hills, accessible from I-75 via exit 78 (Chrysler Dr.).

Regular Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday and noon – 5 p.m. Sunday. The Museum is closed every Monday.

Regular admission, which includes self-guided tours of Cars, Trees & Traditions, is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors (62 and older) and $4 for juniors (6 – 12). Children 5 years old and younger are free.
