Downtown Detroit Partnership Expands its Board of Directors

DETROIT, November 24, 2010 – The Downtown Detroit Partnership (DDP), a private/public partnership of corporate and civic leaders, today announced the expansion of its board of directors from 28 to 37 members. 

“These new members add considerable knowledge and expertise to our board,” said Cynthia J. Pasky, chair of DDP’s board of directors. “Each has a history of strong commitment to moving Detroit forward.  We look forward to valuable contributions from each of them as we continue our efforts to develop and execute initiatives that enhance the vitality of Downtown Detroit.”

Effective November 22, 2010, newly elected members include:

  • George P. Corchis, Jr., president & CEO, MGM Grand Detroit
  • Michael E. Duggan, president & CEO, Detroit Medical Center
  • Stacy Fox, principal, The Roxbury Group
  • Allan D. Gilmour, Interim President, Wayne State University
  • James C. Kokas, owner, Opus One
  • Robert Ficano, County Executive, Wayne County
  • Tim Nicholson, PVS Chemicals, Inc.
  • Nancy Schlichting, president & CEO, Henry Ford Health System
  • Bishop Edgar L. Vann II, pastor, Second Ebenezer Church

Pasky replaced Roger Penske, chairman of Penske Corporation as Board of Directors Chair. Anthony F. Earley, Jr., executive chairman of DTE Energy Company was elected chair of the Executive Committee. Penske, who served nearly five years as chair, remains on the board as a Vice Chair. Joining Penske as Vice Chairs are Matthew P. Cullen, president & CEO of Rock Ventures LLC; S. Martin Taylor of SM Taylor Ventures LLC; and Robert Buckler.

Ann Lang, President & CEO of DDP, continues on the Executive Committee. New Executive Committee members include Stacy Fox, principal of The Roxbury Group; Cameron H. Piggot, Member and director of the Real Estate and Environmental Department, Dykema Gossett PLLC., Daniel J. Loepp, Presdent & CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan; and Denise Starr, Chief Administrative Officer of Compuware Corporation.
