TechWeek 2017

TechWeek Detroit's annual awards celebration was hosted on May 23 at the Garden Theatre. The integrated media organization honored the TechWeek100 and other leaders in Detroit's technology industries, and guests also enjoyed technology demonstrations, including virtual reality.

Team Caden Open House at Lingenfelter Collection

On Aug. 11, the Congenital Heart Center and C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital hosted its Team Caden Open House in memory of 11-year-old Caden Bowles, who was cared for in the center. More than 200 rare and unique cars were on display at the Lingenfelter Collection in Brighton. Proceeds benefited the hospital.

11th Annual Troy Traffic Jam

Troy Historic Village hosted its 11th Troy Traffic Jam car show on Aug. 5 at Columbia Center in Troy. Nearly 300 classic cars, hot rods, muscle cars, and specialty vehicles were on display, and guests enjoyed music, food, and children’s crafts. This year also marked the launch of Connect with Careers, a youth mentoring program.

15th Annual Paul W. Smith Golf Classic

The 15th annual Paul W. Smith Golf Classic took place Aug. 6 at the Detroit Golf Club. Attendees enjoyed golf and dining, and proceeds went to Detroit PAL, The Children’s Center, and Variety – the Children’s Charity of Detroit. The classic has raised nearly $6.5 million since 2004.

Young Catholic Professionals Detroit One-Year Anniversary

The Detroit chapter of Young Catholic Professionals celebrated its one-year anniversary on Wednesday, Aug. 1 with a mass celebrated by Archbishop Allan Vigneron at Sainte Anne Parish de Detroit church. About 200 young professionals and others enjoyed networking, refreshments, and live music in the courtyard in front of the church after the mass.

Concours d’Elegance of America 2018 Car Show

The 40th annual Concours d’Elegance of America car show took place Sunday, July 29 at The Inn at St. John’s in Plymouth Township. More than 300 classic and historically relevant vehicles ranging from the Gas Light era to Modern Collectibles were on display.
