Jazz Festival Luncheon 2017

A group of jazz enthusiasts, festival sponsors, and civic officials gathered at the Detroit Athletic Club on Wednesday, April 19 for a preview of the 39th annual Detroit Jazz Festival lineup. The four-day festival will take place from Sept. 1-4 and feature performances by the Wayne Shorter Quartet, Hancock, jazz fusionist Miles Mosley, and a jam session led by local saxophonist George Benson.

Read to a Child 2017

More than 150 guests attended the fifth annual Help Kids in Need Love to Read fundraiser, hosted by Detroit-non-profit Read to a Child, on Thursday, May 11at the Roberts Riverwalk Hotel in Detroit. Guests enjoyed dinner, cocktails, live music, dancing, and a silent auction, and raised funds for literary resources for low income elementary schoolers throughout metro Detroit.

Metropolis of Detroit Spring Luncheon

The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Detroit Philoptochos Society welcomed Betty Cantrell, Miss America 2016, to celebrate her Hellenic heritage and share her journey at a luncheon on Saturday, April 29 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Troy. The event promoted the charitable, philanthropic, and educational efforts of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.

Christian Brothers' Dinner 2017

The 36th annual Christian Brothers' Dinner was hosted Thursday, May 4 at Penna's Italian restaurant in Sterling Heights, to benefit De La Salle Collegiate High School. More than 400 guests enjoyed cocktails, a plated dinner, and silent auction.
