DCBA Dinner and Delegation

The Detroit Chinese Business Association, Oakland County Economic Development Corp., and Detroit Institute of Arts hosted a dinner and delegation event on Thursday, June 15 at the Troy Marriott. The evening featured wine, dinner, dessert, and a presentation by the major of Taizhou, China. Proceeds from the event benefit the DIA's new Asian exhibit.

The House of Providence, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing Michigan's foster children with support services while they await adoption, hosted its annual Wishes Gala on Nov. 3 at the Royal Park Hotel in Rochester. Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour, dinner, and presentation by musician and speaker Jimmy Wayne.

Wine and Dine in the D at the Westin Book Cadillac

More than 350 people attended the 7th Annual Wine and Dine in the D on Oct. 12 at the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel in downtown Detroit. The event, which included 24 restaurants, 17 wineries, three brewers, and one distiller, along with a silent auction and live entertainment, raised $130,000 for the National Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, which in recent years has made great strides in treating what is a cancer of the white blood cells.

CFA Society of Detroit Economic Forecast Luncheon

The CFA Society of Detroit, a membership organization of 400 certified financial analysts, held its annual economic forecast luncheon on Nov. 10 at the MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit. The speakers included Robert Dye, senior vice president and chief economist of Comerica Bank, and Josh Brown, CEO of Ritholtz Wealth Management.
