Attorney at Detroit’s Butzel Long Receives Best of MichBusiness Award

Rebecca S. Davies, attorney and shareholder at Detroit’s Butzel Long, has been named a 2018 Best of MichBusiness Awards recipient.

Davies facilitates two monthly affinity groups of human resource professionals for MichBusiness. She concentrates her practice primarily on employment law and commercial litigation and has represented employers in federal and state court litigation before state and federal administrative agencies. She has represented the private and public sectors for nearly 20 years, including companies with up to 20,000 employees, municipalities, libraries, counties, and government authorities.

As an author and lecturer, Davies has spoken at organizations including Walsh College, the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, Automation Alley, and the American Society of Employers. She is an adjunct faculty member at Walsh College and is active in national and local legal associations.

Davies serves on the board and was a chair of the North American Transportation Employee Relations Association. She is a member and former chair of the Labor and Employment Section for the Oakland County Bar Association. She serves on the Workforce and Education Committee for Oakland County.

After earning an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, Davies completed a juris doctorate from the Detroit College of Law. She completed her master’s degree in 2010 from the Wayne State University Law School.
