Justice Maura Corrigan Joins Butzel Long as Counsel

Detroit-based law firm Butzel Long has added Maura Corrigan to their firm as counsel. Justice Corrigan will practice in litigation and appeals.

Prior to joining Butzel Long, Corrigan served a number of positions including assistant prosecuting attorney for Wayne County, chief of appeal in the U.S. attorney’s office in Detroit, law clerk for Judge John Gillis of the Michigan Court of Appeals, partner at Plunkett and Cooney in Bloomfield Hills, and the first woman to serve as chief assistant U.S. Attorney.

 

Additionally, Corrigan serves on seven nonprofit boards, has previously served as president of the Incorporated Society of Irish American Lawyers and the Detroit Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. She earned her J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from Marygrove College in Detroit.
