U-M Appoints New Director of Tech Transfer Venture Center

The University of Michigan has appointed Mike Psarouthakis as the director of its Tech Transfer Venture Center in Ann Arbor.

In his new position, Psarouthakis will lead the Venture Center in support of the expanding entrepreneurial efforts at U-M, including formation, funding, and go-to-market efforts. He joined the Venture Center in 2014 as a senior venture specialist and was most recently the assistant director for physical science ventures.

Psarouthakis, of Ann Arbor, previously served as vice president of business acceleration at the Michigan Economic Development Corp. in Lansing, where he oversaw a portfolio of over 150 early-stage technology company investments. He also serves on the advisory board for eBay.

Psarouthakis earned a Master of Science degree in natural resource management and policy, and a Master of Business Administration degree in corporate strategy, marketing, and organizational behavior from the U-M’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business.
