DETROIT — Bonnie Mayfield, a member of the Bloomfield Hills-based Dykema law firm, has been appointed to chair the legislative committee of the National Association of Women Lawyers.

The association is a national voluntary organization devoted to the interests of women lawyers and women’s rights. The organization’s legislative committee monitors federal legislation that has the potential to impact women’s rights and the ability of women to practice law.

Earlier this year, Mayfield, of West Bloomfield, was also named vice chair of diversity initiatives for the diversity committee of the International Association of Defense Counsel. Mayfield represents clients in labor and employment, product liability, and commercial matters. Mayfield also is a member of Dykema’s National Trial Team.

Mayfield received her BA from Dillard University in New Orleans and her J.D. from New York University School of Law.
