DETROIT — Leaders for Kids will host its second annual Cheers for Children event at the College for Creative Studies A. Alfred Taubman Center for Design Education at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 14.
Tickets include a strolling dinner, an array of spirits and entertainment. This year the Detroit themed party will feature local restaurants such as La Dolce Vida, Crave and Gemmayze, as well as performances by the Selected of God Choir (from the Chrysler-Eminem commercial), Tom Butwin, and DJ Captn 20.
All proceeds from this event will benefit DMC Children’s Hospital of Michigan’s Hamtramck School Based Health Center which provides immunizations and other vital medical services to more than 1,500 underserved children in one of Detroit’s most financially challenged communities.
This year’s event was made possible by presenting sponsor SourceHOV and other sponsors: Warrior Sports, Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP, Quicken Loans, and LSG Insurance Partners.
Leaders for Kids is comprised of emerging leaders from southeast Michigan who are passionate about the health and wellness of children in the region and the charitable work being performed by the Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation.
The board members of Leaders for Kids serve as ambassadors, raising awareness of the Foundation’s critical mission. The organization fundraises for the foundation’s pediatric medical research, medical education and community benefit programs that advance the health and wellness of children in the Detroit area.
Last year’s inaugural event attracted more than 500 people and raised more than $100,000 for Children’s Hospital of Michigan’s healing arts program, supported by the foundation. With the help of supporters who want to have an amazing night, Leaders for Kids hopes to exceed those numbers this year.
