Bodman Attorney Among Top Women in IP

DETROIT — Bodman PLC’s intellectual property attorney, Susan M. Kornfield has been named one of the Top 250 Women in IP, by Managing Intellectual Property, a legal publication.

Kornfield is one of three Michigan attorneys to be included in the Top 250. Candidates were chosen based interviews and surveys of IP attorneys at law firms across the United States.

Kornfield works at the firm’s Ann Arbor office, chairing the firm’s intellectual property practice group and pro bono committee, assisting in a range of intellectual property matters involving information system acquisitions, copyrights, trademarks, e-commerce, non compete agreements and other post-employment restrictions, and protection against economic espionage. She handles both transactional and litigation matters and has been lead counsel in national intellectual property litigation. 

Kornfield has also served as an expert witness, mediator, and arbitrator in intellectual property disputes and serves on an advisory committee in library and information resources to Stanford University.

 Kornfield teaches intellectual property and advertising law at the University of Michigan. She has authored numerous articles and addressed various industry and professional groups.

Michigan Super Lawyers, named Kornfield as one of the top 50 women attorneys in the state for technology law. Other publications recognizing Kornfield include The Best Lawyers in America and DBusiness.
