MHPN Fall Benefit at Grand Army of the Republic

On Oct. 12, the Michigan Historic Preservation Network held its Fall Benefit at the Grand Army of the Republic in Detroit. Built in 1899, the castle-like building is being renovated by Mindfield, a creative studio in Detroit.

The Children's Leukemia Foundation of Michigan, in partnership with the Eastern Market Corp., held the inaugural Craft Detroit on Aug. 1 inside Shed 3 at Eastern Market. The event included gourmet food and craft cocktail stations from local sources.

20th Annual Woodward Dream Cruise

The 20th Annual Woodward Dream Cruise, sponsored by Chevrolet, was held Aug. 16. The cruise, which celebrates classic car culture, took place along a 16-mile stretch of Woodward Avenue through nine host communities, including Berkley, Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township, Ferndale, Huntington Woods, Pleasant Ridge, Pontiac, and Royal Oak.

Fash Bash at the DIA 2014

The Founders Junior Council, in conjunction with Neiman Marcus, hosted Fash Bash at the Detroit Institute of Arts on Aug. 14. Proceeds from the event directly benefited the museum’s operations.
