South Oakland Shelter hosted the sixth annual “Dancing with the Detroit Stars” at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham on Nov. 22. Proceeds benefited the organization’s services for local homeless individuals and families, including emergency shelter, housing, employment assistance, and counseling.

Kidney Foundation's 10th Annual Fundraiser Ball

The National Kidney Foundation of Michigan hosted its 10th Annual Kidney Ball on Dec. 6 at the MGM Grand Detroit. Approximately 680 guests attended the event, which raised more than $500,000 to help the more than 900,000 people in Michigan living with chronic kidney disease.
