The University of Michigan's Taubman Institute hosted "An Evening of Art + Science" on April 21 at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD) to raise funds for its Emerging Scholars grants. Leading up to the event, contemporary artists and University of Michigan physician-researchers were paired to explore the intersection of their work. The resulting paintings, sculpture, and jewelry were sold at the gala.
Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan celebrated its 23rd annual Women’s Power Breakfast on April 21 at Eastern Market's Shed 3. More than 640 female leaders gathered to help raise money for 1 million meals for hungry children across southeast Michigan.

Community Living Centers held its 39th annual celebrity chefs dinner at the Detroit Athletic Club on April 15. Fifteen metro Detroit chefs prepared a five-course meal while guests enjoyed entertainment, a silent auction, and a raffle. Community Living Centers serves metro Detroit adults and children with developmental disabilities and their families.
