Celebrating their 50th year, the Founder's Junior Council of the Detroit Institute of Arts presented Cirque: Empire on Saturday, Feb. 28 at the DIA in Detroit. Guests donned masks and enjoyed drinks and dancing with entertainment provided by DJ Darren Revell and Planet D Nonet, a swing band. The funds raised will benefit the DIA's weekly Drawing in the Galleries and rolling Art Carts programs.
Detroit PAL, a nonprofit organization that helps children through academic and athletic development programs, held their annual MVP Awards Dinner on Feb. 26 at the Detroit Athletic Club. Detroit PAL announced their $15.5 million fundraising goal to redevelop Tiger Stadium into a new athletic field and PAL headquarters.
Scott Shuptrine Interiors welcomed acclaimed designer Jamie Drake to its Royal Oak gallery on Feb. 25 to celebrate his collection for Theodore Alexander. Drake gave a presentation, while architects, interior designers, and home enthusiasts enjoyed refreshments and entertainment.
The Children’s Center in Detroit’s Midtown district hosted its annual Auto Glow party and fundraiser on Jan. 16 at Ford Field. The event, which was attended by more than 900 guests, raised nearly $220,000 for a variety of programs that provide families and children with evidence-based therapeutic mental and behavioral health services.
