DETROIT, January 17, 2011 — Infinity Primary Care, a group of 52 family and internal medicine physicians located in Brighton, Canton, Livonia, Novi and West Bloomfield, has joined the Henry Ford Physician Network.

Kevin Deighton, M.D., president of Infinity Primary Care, is serving as the Regional Care Collaborative Medical Director for the network in Oakland County. As part of that role, he will also join the Henry Ford Physician Network board of directors. Dr. Deighton will be partnering with other physicians in the region to improve efficiency of care and share best practices.

Initial plans are for the Henry Ford network and Infinity to partner with Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital on programs focused on quality and efficiency, such as improving care for patients with diabetes and reducing patient readmissions.

Dr. Deighton is a graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine and holds a Master of Science in Immunology and Microbiology. He is the medical director for Livonia Family Practice and program director for the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Livingston Family Medicine Residency Program.

He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Michigan State Medical Society, and the Christian Medical and Dental Association. Dr. Deighton has a special interest in electronic health information technology and overseas medical missions.

The Henry Ford Physician Network is a physician-led partnership, with the goal of creating a high degree of interdependence and cooperation among physicians to ensure quality care and control costs. This model of collaboration is flexible, with physicians maintaining their existing practice, while partnering with their colleagues in the region.

The network includes the Henry Ford Medical Group, regional hospital-employed physicians and private practice physicians who believe such a partnership can deliver more health care value.
