TROY, Mich., Dec. 14 /PRNewswire/ – David T. Provost, Chief Executive Officer, has been named Chairman of the Board of Directors of First Michigan Bank, a subsidiary of First Michigan Bancorp, Inc. He will also retain his CEO title.

Mr. Provost joined First Michigan Bank in 2008 as CEO. Previously, he had been Chairman and CEO of The PrivateBank – Michigan, a subsidiary of PrivateBancorp, Inc. He also served on the Board of Directors for The PrivateBank and Trust Company in Chicago, Illinois.

In 1989, Mr. Provost co-founded Bloomfield Hills Bancorp, Inc., and its subsidiary, The Private Bank where he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Bloomfield Hills Bancorp, and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Private Bank until its acquisition by PrivateBancorp, Inc., in June 2005. Prior to his leadership role at The Private Bank, Mr. Provost served 13 years in various capacities at Manufacturers National Bank of Detroit and Manufacturers National Bank of Novi, now Comerica Bank.

Mr. Provost attended Alma College where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He also earned an MBA from Eastern Michigan University and graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Banking. Mr. Provost is the immediate Past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Alma College and is a member of their Executive Committee.

Mr. Provost resides in Birmingham, Michigan with his wife, Christine and their two children.
