Brooks Kushman Expands Trademark Practice With Addition of Erica D. Klein

Brooks Kushman, a patent law firm based in Southfield, has announced the addition of shareholder Erica D. Klein to the its Southfield office.

Klein brings more than 20 years of experience focused on the strategic development, management, and protection of intellectual property (IP) assets. She also has extensive experience structuring IP transactions and regularly negotiating IP acquisition agreements, licenses, and other commercial arrangements implicating intellectual property rights.

“Erica has a wealth of experience in trademark law and works with clients domestically and around the world,” says Mark Cantor, president of Brooks Kushman. “I am excited to welcome her to our team as we continue to grow our practice. Erica is a proven leader and will be a great asset to our clients and our team.”

Prior to joining Brooks Kushman, Klein was a partner with Kramer Levin, a general practice law firm in New York City, where she focused on global brand protection and IP transactional work.

Klein holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree with honors from Dartmouth College. She is currently the chair of the Intellectual Property Law Section of the New York State Bar Association and is an active member of the International Trademark Association. Klein has previously served as the co-chair of Kramer Levin’s Women’s Initiative Committee and has been recognized by Thomson Reuters’ New York Super Lawyers from 2014-2017.
